Friends -- here is Sydney's recap from Mardi Gras. It was so good (and REALLY convenient) so I thought I would just paste it on my blog. THANKS SYD!!!!

Courtney, Ben and McCullough came in town for Mardi Gras, and we all went to New Orleans with my Dad and Glo. Wes had to work, so he couldn’t come :( We celebrated Court’s birthday, as well as McC’s first birthday!

We stayed with Uncle Don in his French Quarter condo, which was definitely not designed with toddlers in mind, we had to watch every move the girls made; especially Vera!

As you can see, the girls wasted no time getting comfortable at Uncle Don’s. These steps were the hit of the weekend!

The girls enjoyed the chromatherapy in the bathtub.

We were fortunate enough to be hosted by the Brennan’s and the Brower’s, and Vera and McC loved all of the attention from the party guests.

Cutest Diet Coke ever.

Our hosts had a row of ladders lining St. Charles, and were gracious enough to loan us one for the weekend! The girls LOVED it. The first time I took Vera down for a break, she cried and pointed to the ladder saying, “In it! In it!” Here’s Uncle Austin whistling for beads protecting his nieces.

Vera spotted a man dressed as a chicken dancing with a man dressed as a pig.

They monogrammed the butter especially for Courtney. ;)

We posed in front of Pat O’s on the way to Cafe’ Du Monde.

100_0684

The girls enjoyed the beignets! This was McCullough very first beignet experience...she LOVED it!! Despite her daddy's hesitation :)

100_0687

Vera even took some to-go.

Sunday was chilly, but that didn’t stop us from going out! Here’s Vera with PaPa.

Uncle Ben’s not sure about about the girls being out here…

100_0707

Because I’m sure you haven’t seen enough pictures of the girls sitting in the ladder!

Cupcakes and Backyard FUN!!!!

McCullough's turning ONE
Join us for cupcakes and backyard fun!!!

Here is a quick glance of McCullough's first birthday. It was a very special day with grandparents and friends!!!! McCullough loved every minute!!!

McCullough is ONE YEAR OLD!!!

Well it's really hard for me to believe, but my baby girl is ONE!!! I just can't figure out how a year flew by - I know everyone says it, but it really went by fast (despite the many sleepless nights those first few months :)) It's been a big month...
-someone started WALKING!!!
-She also cut her front left tooth
-learned to climb up and down stairs
-and is now a professional in the kitchen!!

She is talking like crazy and can officially say:
mama
dada
papa
bye - bye (this is her favorite) and she likes to wave as she does it
night night
ba ba (bottle)
uh oh
ah chooo (and laughs like she sneezes)
ball
nana (for her grandmother and her banana)

Stats:
Born: 6lbs 10 ounces One Year: 19 lbs 9 oz (25-50%)
Height: 20'' 30'' (75%)

She loves her shoes and is able to walk much better in them than before (probably b/c I had her in shoes 2.5 sizes too SMALL)
She loves the outdoors
She's VERY social and prefers to talk to other people at the restaurant and walks up to every table!
She likes to feed herself much more than being fed (which is fine with me)
She most certainly enjoyed her cake at her birthday party!!
She loves to play with other children, and just got moved up to the Butterfly class at Sunday School~~
She laughs all the time
She knows how to hug - it's really sweet, she puts her head down on your shoulder
She isn't a big fan of dogs anymore which is kind of sad. She likes them from a far but is terrified of them if they get near.

That's all I can think of right now... check the blog over the next few months to watch McCullough grow!!! Thanks for sharing in this amazing first year of life!!! We are so blessed.
Love,
Courtney and Ben
