Cupcakes and Backyard FUN!!!!

McCullough's turning ONE
Join us for cupcakes and backyard fun!!!

Here is a quick glance of McCullough's first birthday. It was a very special day with grandparents and friends!!!! McCullough loved every minute!!!

McCullough is ONE YEAR OLD!!!

Well it's really hard for me to believe, but my baby girl is ONE!!! I just can't figure out how a year flew by - I know everyone says it, but it really went by fast (despite the many sleepless nights those first few months :)) It's been a big month...
-someone started WALKING!!!
-She also cut her front left tooth
-learned to climb up and down stairs
-and is now a professional in the kitchen!!

She is talking like crazy and can officially say:
mama
dada
papa
bye - bye (this is her favorite) and she likes to wave as she does it
night night
ba ba (bottle)
uh oh
ah chooo (and laughs like she sneezes)
ball
nana (for her grandmother and her banana)

Stats:
Born: 6lbs 10 ounces One Year: 19 lbs 9 oz (25-50%)
Height: 20'' 30'' (75%)

She loves her shoes and is able to walk much better in them than before (probably b/c I had her in shoes 2.5 sizes too SMALL)
She loves the outdoors
She's VERY social and prefers to talk to other people at the restaurant and walks up to every table!
She likes to feed herself much more than being fed (which is fine with me)
She most certainly enjoyed her cake at her birthday party!!
She loves to play with other children, and just got moved up to the Butterfly class at Sunday School~~
She laughs all the time
She knows how to hug - it's really sweet, she puts her head down on your shoulder
She isn't a big fan of dogs anymore which is kind of sad. She likes them from a far but is terrified of them if they get near.

That's all I can think of right now... check the blog over the next few months to watch McCullough grow!!! Thanks for sharing in this amazing first year of life!!! We are so blessed.
Love,
Courtney and Ben

And she's WALKING!!!

Well... this past week (Tues the 8th to be exact)...McCullough took her first real steps. She has been taking a few steps here and there...but this was more than that!! She is officially figuring out 'this walking thing' but she's not big on performing!! So, if we pretend not to be watching...she up and starts walking again!! It's really fun!!

SNOW IN AUSTIN!!!!

Last week, we went to bed with the hopes of snow (we have been disappointed MANY times, so our hopes weren't too high! BUT....it really happened!!!

McCullough was a little confused, but really excited!!

And...as usual, if we can call it a party...then the Trimbles are a part of it. They showed up bright and early for a SNOW DAY PARTY!!! The girls had a blast, but us moms definitely enjoyed it more!! Pancakes were a must :))

SO...what do you do when your precious nephew lives 7 hours away...ICHAT in the snow :)) Thankfully I got to talk to him before all the snow was gone. He wanted to see me make McCullough a snowman. He was PRECIOUS and LOVED to watch me smash snowman all over my deck!! He just laughed and laughed!!
And this was me...for about an hour... using up all the snow!!!

By the time McC got up from her nap, Ben was at work, and my snowman had all but melted...so this was the best pic I could take of her with the snowman, while her holding and the camera!! :)))

11 months

Well...with only one week until McCullough's first birthday, I figured it was never too late to post her 11 month pic!! She is SO active that I couldn't really get a good pic of her smiling, with the 11 months sign in the pic, but you get the picture :)

It's been a fabulous month! We spent Christmas in Baton Rouge, then went to Dallas. McCullough's first cousin Margaret was born, and Samuel turned 3, and great grandmother Meg turned 90!!!!

She still has 4 teeth (missing her two front teeth - but that's ok). She is crawling like crazy, pulling up, and trying to get into any cabinet, toilet, or file drawer. She's a mess and a total blast!!

And by the end of the photo shoot...Squirty was completely wiped out!! I don't blame her, I felt the same way :))

Margaret Brooke Moss

Ben, McCullough and I headed to Dallas on Tuesday afternoon hoping to make it in time for the arrival of our niece Margaret. Luckily for us we did, unfortunately for Whitney and Spencer, it was a long process....so this is what the waiting room looked like for about 7 hours from 5pm to 1am...that's right!!! Our rock star babysitting, Christie, even agreed to spend the night when Margaret still wasn't here at midnight.

But shortly after 1am, on January 5th, Spencer came out of the elevator with great news that Margaret Brooke Moss was here, healthy and doing great!!

Everyone raced to the nursery to meet her...
and then we all stared for 10 minutes as she got her first bath and evaluation. Whit was still in recovery but we got to see her shortly after. And let me just say, my sister in law is AMAZING!!! She was a champ...as I tell people, she checked in on the 3rd and had the baby on the 5th...she's superwoman in my eyes!!
My adorable little niece!!!
Brothers!!!! After a LONG hard day
Spencer with the family!
I was SO happy that I could stay in Dallas for a few days to help Whitney get adjusted to Motherhood. Man...I forgot how painful and hard those first few days are...but when you hold that little angel...it sure is worth it all!
Margaret was the star of the week for sure!!
McCullough did get to see her, but only from a far...of course she kicked her legs in excitement. It will be a few months before we let her too close :)))

We miss everyone SO much!!!!! Welcome to the world Margaret B, we adore you!!!

Christmas with the Moss Family

So after BR, we headed up to Dallas to spend some time with Ben's family. His grandmother, Meg, who just turned 90, always flies from NC to see us, and it is a wonderful treat for all of us!! We absolutely adore her!!! Ben is so blessed to have three grandparents still living, so the camera is always out in full force whenever we are with them.

McCullough adores Meg and they "play well" together! Sweet Meg is always chasing her around and trying to entertain her. She wishes McCullough would snuggle more, but so do the rest of us :)
We actually did two 1000 piece puzzles in just a few days. It's great to have so much help - so I can do fun, mindless things like puzzles!! This year we did the NY skyline and another one with farm house.
PRESENTS!! McCullough is still trying to figure out the whole presents thing, but one thing for sure, she loved the copper hose holder that we gave Nancy!
She also loved the chair that Nana and Pops got her!! She loves to sit in it and has figured out climbing in and out of it. We often bring it from her playroom to the main room so she can sit with us and hang out :)

She also got her first tea set (of many I presume)
We had a great time...and though it was short...we will be right back because our niece, Margaret Brooke is about to be born!
