McCullough meets her roots :)

After being at the beach, I stayed in BR for a few days and got to see some wonderful family and friends. It was so nice to be back at the Rue, and though it was a little overwhelming and exhausting to have so many visitors, it was all worth it!!! I am so grateful for all the people who stopped by or the friends that drove in!! Here are a few pics of my days...

Mornings with sweet Vera and McCullough just playing (or sleeping) on the porch!! I love my niece so much!!! Look at that smile - how couldn't you!!

Momie read to McCullough all the time and even said "She loves to be read to" :)
One morning all my dear high school friends came over for a brunch!! Despite the pouring rain we had a wonderful time!!
Grayson is precious!!
Elizabeth brought sweet Audrey
Anna and Margaret were in town from Austin, and Amy and Pace made it over after a long night of call...she finishes residency in June and we are all thrilled!!
Brookie had Rives and James over -- Samuel was SO excited!!
Mary Gibson is just a doll...look at those curls and that sweet smile!!
ROOMIES!!!! Maggie drove straight from Tennesse!!! Seeing Anne is always wonderful!
Katy is holding McCullough's BFF Margaret (BR is trying to steal them, but Austin, TX is fighting to keep them)
Elizabeth -- she definitely looks like you!!!
THE SQUIRT...as we call her :)
Mr. Pace was checking out all the little ladies...he liked what he saw :)
One day we decided to let Samuel hold McCullough (the pics are out of order), but after a few seconds...she settled down -- he looks proud (but nervous).
UMM...can someone help me!!
"Baby don't cry, its ok...I will share my watermelon with you"
Blair and her beautiful little girl Kate came in town the same week so we got to see them lots!!! This was the first meeting of the best friends...it was short lived due to naps, but we had a great time!!
Mary Ann also drove in town with her son Allen, so we got Kate and Allen together for a photo!!
"Hey, you're pretty cute...."
"You're not so bad yourself"
The next night - Mary Ann and Bethany thought it would be fun to let the boys have some watermelon outside...though they just met, it is safe to say, they had a blast!!!

Even Uncle A got intothe fun of being shirtless!!!
Aunt B got some quality time with sweet McCullough... baby fever ;0)

Sweet Mary Ann and that precious little man of hers!!
When you ask Allen to make "Jimbo eyes", this is what he does... pretty perfect impression if you know Jimbo~

All the little ones!!!

I had a wonderful wonderful time in BR and look forward to many more trips so McCullough can learn about her roots!!!

My first Mother's Day

I had an absolute wonderful Mother's Day!!! Here are a few pictures of my new favorite day!!

One of our favorite family traditions has been Sunday Burgers with the Carters!! We have been doing this for well over 15 years...and through out the years different "kids" would be in town but whether one or six...burgers were on. This year Wesley, Gipson and I were all in town along with Wesley's two children Wallace and Forrest, and of course McCullough (who sadly, sort of, slept through the whole meal). We had a wonderful Mothers Day with them!!

Beach Time!!

This past week we took a family vacation to Navarre Beach!!! Despite a few days of bad weather and 12 people plus 3 babies spending plenty of time together, we all had a wonderful time!!! Here are a few pics from the trip -- most of from the 'photo shoot' day but you can see what had a blast!!!

Best Friends finally meet!!!

After months and months of anticipation...our daughters are finally here and finally meeting!! Though we were hoping they would be in the hospital nursery at the same time (like Anna and I were back in March of 1979), McCullough and Margaret are sure to be lifelong friends. For those that don't know Anna and I were born three days a part in Baton Rouge, married two weeks a part and moved to Austin, TX, live two blocks away from each other, were pregnant together and now have daughters that are three weeks a part!! Anna and David even lived with Ben and me the last month of our pregnancies while they waited for their renovation to be completed. The Trimbles are such a joy and blessing in our lives and we look forward to raising these sweet SOUTHERN ladies together in Texas!!

Easter 2010

Well McCullough wasn't quite old enough to dye and hunt for eggs or enjoy boiled crawfish, but we started the tradition anyway!! Saturday we had a fun filled day of hunting for eggs and enjoying great crawfish with lots of friends. The bunny made a stop at our house before we went to All Saints to participate in a wonderful worship service.
