Ben, McCullough and I loaded up and flew to Charleston, SC and then drove an hour and a half north to the small town of Pawley's Island. I like to describe "Pawleys" as an old fishing town that has yet to succumb to the glamour and tourist traps of many other beach towns.
Every year we gather at Pawley's with Barney's mom, sisters and all their family members. Here are some pics of our weekend in the Low Country.
Ben's first cousin Bonnie had her first child on Jan. 20 - EVIE :))
Meg, Ben, and McCullough headed to the creek. One really cool thing about Pawley's Island is that you have the Atlantic Ocean, and because of the tides, you have this amazing little creek that goes behind all the houses. So, you get the best of both worlds!!
McCullough meets the Atlantic Ocean for the first time!!! Check out those sunglasses and her beach hat. Amazingly enough, she kept the sunglasses on (and I am glad b/c they are polarized)
McCullough experiencing her first WAVE....

Our little beach girl had a blast!!
Meg and Nana enjoying some beach time under the tent.
Jake and Bonnie with little miss evie.

Marsha in her famous chair...sadly, this was the last year for the chair...it saw it's last beach day before the might collapse.
What would it be like to have triplets and try to feed them CHAOS!!!
McCullough is still wondering how her delicious oatmeal disappeared and what in the world is this new green thing on her spoon.
All the babies lined up...peas and applesauce for dinner for everyone. Can't wait to add my little niece to the mix next year!!!
Josie wasn't loving the peas.

The next few pictures are from my FLOATING THE CREEK... this is my favorite part of Pawleys. One night we all went around the table and said what we look forward to the most, and for me...it's the float. As you can see we all blow up our rafts, and then head out to the oceans. Pawley's is a little island, so when the tides coming in you can float from the ocean, around the back of the island and right up to your dock!
